What’s Next for RockinThemes?

We’re in the process of trying to decide what’s next for RockinThemes, our free WordPress themes site. And we’ve got a couple of ideas that we’d like to see what kind of interest and response we get so we can charge ahead with its future …

For most of these, there are sites that are already doing them. And most are REALLY good at it. So we don’t want to reinvent the wheel or compete with those sites, but we’d like to build more community here on RT.

So, here are a couple of ideas we’re thinking about:

1. Themes-only forums — This could be a subscription or ad-supported forums that deals only with issues to do with Themes only. WordPress already has an active and awesome support forums. Our thought would be that moderators and users would help each other out here for things like “How do I change my header?” etc.

2. Free theme reviews – The other content idea is to start profiling and reviewing great free themes. This wouldn’t be like announcement posts but more like a discernment posts to help you find quality free themes.

3. More free themes — We want to continue to support the WordPress community with free themes. So we’ll still be rolling out new themes, but we’re toying with some ideas for releasing higher-quality themes in an economic way. Meaning, how do we release great free themes and still pay the bills. This might be a resurrection of the Themes Club model.

OK, those are some of the ideas we’ve thought of …. what do you think about them? Do you have better ones that we could implement here? Let us know your thoughts by using our contact form.

I am all for number 3. I am trying to earn adsense income, and your themes help a lot, but for the time being I cannot invest much into purchasing themes. I do have to sit back and thank you for all the wonderful themes you provide.
