I’d like to appeal to ALL WP theme developers to stop using that ugly WP 0.1 legacy : the big empty space next to each picture embedded in a post.
The CSS float and clear properties have been around for a while now and are easily incorparted in any theme’s stylesheet.
Please ?

Peter,
CSS float and clear properties are the lazy way out. If you look back at some of our older themes, we did exactly what you said. Guess what? EVERY image in EVERY post you publish ends up getting that float property. That means that if you wanted to have an image appear in your post with text below it, you’re screwed. Unless you’re somehow under the impression that the average user knows how to use the clear property manually?
The wordpress image manager handles floating and padding for images individually. That way, if you want it to float, it’ll float. If you don’t, it won’t.
If you’d like to edit the stylesheet yourself and add the
p img {float:left; padding:5px;}
then be my guest. I’d rather not REQUIRE that all my themes force the user to float all images.
Hope that answers your concern.
Nathan
